Tabata training is a HIIT workout designed to build muscle, strength & lose weight. This training program was found by Japanese scientist Dr. Izumi Tabata and a team of researchers from the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Tokyo. Each exercise in a given Tabata workout lasts only four minutes, but it’s likely to be one of the longest four minutes you’ve ever endured.
The structure of the program is as follows:
- Workout hard for 20 seconds
- Rest for 10 seconds
- Complete 8 rounds
Strength training can be performed at home with set of dumbbells or kettle bell. In case you don’t have dumbbells then you can fill the plastic water bottles with sand. Strength training in winters have several benefits. It raises your metabolism level, preventing you from feeling sluggish or lethargic, and of course burning calories and losing fat. You can target biceps, triceps, legs, shoulders and even chest (bench is required) with the help of dumbbells.
